Wiki title:

CLOH

Wiki URL: cloh.wikia.com
Language: English
Requester: RauterkusTalkContribsEmail
Wiki description: Creating Literate Olympians Here = CLOH. A multi-lingual sports experience covering terms, jargon and lingo associated with athletes, sports, fitness and wellness.

Community information: Athletes, coaches, teams, teachers, students, educators, language instructors, fans, spectators, multi-lingual speakers, world travelers.

Classrooms and schools that teach languages is one natural community. The other community is sports-specific, such as the Olympics and multi-sport and multi-language participants.

Category: Sports
Extra information: I've been a publisher, doing more than 100-titles, mostly books, for cutting-edge sports participants. Swimming, volleyball, weightlifting, sports psychology, water polo, and triathlon training -- among some of the topics. My company was Sports Support Syndicate. Have experiences there.

I've been a coach in six states since 1976. Grad school in Physical Ed at Baylor Univ. Prior, was a journalism grad.

Recently, I've worked on a local wiki, as a candidate for office, http://206.130.100.156/wiki/index.php/Main_Page. Ran for Mayor, Controller, State Senate, City Council -- as Libertarian (most recently). My community advocate work has been tireless.

We're going to Beijing, China (4th trip to China) in August for the Olympics.

This unique site will blend languages together in the same page and an outcome will be A-B-C books, Alphabet Books, but multi-lingual. I'll make Live CDs and Live DVDs for handouts with pin traders and promote open source and fitness and language awareness.

This will be one of your top 20 wikis in August 2008. I'm starting a summer camp with gifted students as a lead-up to then.

This sounds like an exciting and useful idea. However, the "cloh" title is very opaque -- we find wikis are much easier for readers, editors and search engines to find when they use a simple, descriptive name. Suggestions that occur to me are http://sportstranslations.wikia.com or http://sportslingo.wikia.com -- are there better ones you can think of?

Please let me know what name you think would work best, and I'll be happy to get this started for you! — Catherine@Wikia (talk) 18:00, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Better name -- other than CLOH

Okay... I'm thinking.

Short is good too. And, I've got the domain, CLOH.Org. So, that (CLOH) was my first impression. My project (publisher) would be CLOH.Org and the Wiki.CLOH.Org would be where the wiki action occurs.

But.... listening to your suggestion

How about "A is for Athlete."

That, "A is for Athlete" is the project title and comes to stand well for the series of sports books.

??? Do you like that? More descriptive.

A-B-C-sports gets very close to ABC, the TV network (in America and Australia).
