- Well, the baseball wikia is about baseball in general. This one focuses on just Major League Baseball, a professional level of baseball. The baseball wikia is about many other things besides Major League Baseball, but a wikia on just Major League Baseball is good, IMO. It can better focus on one subject better than a million others (i.e. Little League Baseball, Minor League Baseball, ect). Thanks, RyanCross 01:15, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- any reason why you cant create the content about MLB at the existing baseball wiki? if thats all you wanted to focus on there that would be fine. also, the url "baseballpedia" does seem to be more a "[encyclo]pedia about baseball", which does already exist at baseball.wikia, and it doesnt in any way describe thats is ONLY MLB content. maybe something like mlb.wikia would work better? people are more likely to find baseball.wikia.com before anything else. --Uberfuzzy 01:24, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

- still dont know why MLB needs its own wiki? i cant see any reason why you cant use the existing baseball wiki. the point of wikis (and wikia especially) is to bring communities together, not segment them. --Uberfuzzy 01:31, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- I guess your right. Sure, I suppose I can contribute to the normal baseball wikia. Fine then, I will go with that. But the administrators and bureaucrats on baseball wikia are all inactive (I believe). The bureaucrat, and the only bureaucrat for that matter, has been inactive for years. The administrators have been inactive for quite a long time too. Who's going to handle the permissions, the technical side of baseball wiki, ect.? Do we have bureaucrats of wikia, and can thay grant permissions to any wikia? -- RyanCross 01:38, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- great! glad to hear it. permissions, thats no problem all, Wikia Staff can set usermissions on anyone anywhere. If your willing, I'm sure they would be willing to grant you sysop/bureaucrat on that wiki. With a subject as wide as baseball, i'm sure you'll have no trouble attracting new editors either. --Uberfuzzy 01:44, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, I have no problem being an administrator and bureaucrat there. I'll be sure not to misuse the tools. That wikia need more administrators and a few more bureaucrats there anyway. I'll be sure to grant the permissions to trusted users there. There's been nobody to handle the technical side of baseball wikia for years. Anyway, please do notify me about it when it has been done.
